Your Town Workshop

In cooperation with the Wyoming Community Network and the Platte County Aspiring Main Street Program, Wyoming Main Street sponsored the Your Town: the Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design Workshop in Platte County on June 22-24.

Wyoming Main Street was one of only five programs nationwide selected for this grant opportunity by the National Endowment for the Arts. The workshop in Platte County provided training and tools for local residents interested in taking on three broad topics: downtown revitalization, streetscape/gateways, and heritage tourism.

As a follow-up to the workshop, Wyoming Main Street has produced a publication that includes the full proceedings of the event—the attendees, their tasks, and the outcomes generated by this unique training opportunity. It is our hope that the publication will serve as a reminder of the good work and enthusiasm our workshop participants produced back in June, and further inspire you to continue in your efforts to make Platte County and other Wyoming communities better places to live.
